Otsuka Receives the 2025 Exemplar Award by Ending Workplace TB (EWTB)
Otsuka (Philippines) Pharmaceutical, Inc. (OPPI) was awarded the prestigious 2025 Exemplar Award by Ending Workplace Tuberculosis (EWTB) last March 24, during the observation of the World TB Day. This achievement was highlighted in an article on the official World Economic Forum (WEF) website, titled How the private sector is helping end TB in the workplace.
EWTB is a campaign aimed at protecting workers from tuberculosis by encouraging companies to implement workplace TB programs and recognize exemplary efforts in their fight against the disease. Through education and awareness initiatives, especially in high TB burden countries, companies can play a pivotal role in eliminating TB. These efforts include workforce awareness campaigns, stigma reduction initiatives, supply chain involvement, and care and prevention strategies.
Last year, OPPI organized three successful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs: a disease information dissemination campaign among all OPPI employees by participating in the World TB Quiz, the TB Forum event at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) joined by several university employees and students, and lastly, the “ToBe or Not ToBe” EWTB awareness program, which offered free X-ray screenings for employees at King’s Court.
