Our Exceptional Experience at the Otsuka Japan Training (May 7–12, 2025)
Our training in Japan offered an unparalleled opportunity for both professional and personal growth, allowing us to experience firsthand how our Japanese counterparts conduct their daily work. Known for its precision, innovation, and discipline, Japan provided the ideal environment for us to acquire valuable skills and insights that left a lasting impact.
Our training program in Tokushima—the birthplace of Otsuka—and in Osaka was particularly memorable. It gave us the rare opportunity to observe how efficiently our Japanese colleagues manage their time and uphold quality in every engagement—a principle that truly embodies the Otsuka spirit. Their unwavering passion for their work inspired us to strive harder and aim for excellence in fulfilling our roles and responsibilities as Pharmaceutical Science Managers (PSMs)
We were especially impressed by their exemplary work ethic, professional etiquette, and collaborative teamwork. These qualities served as powerful models for us to emulate, helping us identify ways to further enhance and streamline our operations at Otsuka (Philippines) Pharmaceutical, Inc.
In addition, Otsuka Japan’s advanced infrastructure and cutting-edge technology significantly enriched our learning experience. Whether in manufacturing or management, we were exposed to top-tier facilities, including state-of-the-art factories. These visits deepened our understanding of how our products are made and the level of care that goes into every process—fostering an even greater pride and appreciation for the Otsuka brand.

Beyond professional development, we were also captivated by Japan’s vibrant culture. From wearing yukata at dinner to witnessing the beauty of cherry blossoms, these cultural experiences enriched our journey and broadened our understanding of Japan and its traditions.
Ultimately, our time in Japan was more than just training—it was a transformative opportunity for us PSMs to cultivate excellence, drive innovation, embrace cultural appreciation, and reinforce our pride in Otsuka’s products. Whether through refining our operations and work ethic or forming meaningful international connections, the knowledge we gained will remain invaluable for years to come.
We are deeply grateful for this opportunity and the lessons we’ve learned. It has strengthened our sense of purpose and deepened our appreciation for being part of such a distinguished, world-renowned company, that is, Otsuka!
